In order to achieve higher metal removal rates and for more economical machining, the rotation speed of modern machine tools increased continuously over the last years. Consequently, the requirements for tools and tool holders in use also became more demanding, since the negative impact of unbalance increases at higher rpm.
However, balancing technology also brings a significant increase in productivity for applications at low rpm, since balancing enables higher machining parameters without any loss of surface finish quality or process stability – not even considering factors such as spindle lifetime or tool life.
Balancing is therefore indeed profitable and useful for every application and for everybody. The balancing process itself is very simple and fast on HAIMER machines.
Especially with a higher degree of automation, reliable machining with foreseeable tool life and less downtimes is of fundamental importance.
